The USAC (Universal Service Administrative Company) Rural Health Care Telecommunications Program helps eligible healthcare providers access affordable telecommunications services. The program covers the difference between urban and rural rates, making high-quality telecom services accessible regardless of location.
Who qualifies? Rural healthcare facilities including hospitals, clinics, health departments, community health centers, and other eligible healthcare providers in areas designated as rural by USAC.
How it works: Healthcare facilities post competitive bids during the filing window (December through April). Service providers like CHARGER Access respond to these bids. Once you select a provider and USAC approves your application, the program covers the rate differential—you pay only the urban rate equivalent.
